Guys: I really hope you can help me with this...its driving me nuts.

I successfully installed Windows 7 64 on my VGN-Z570N a few months ago and everyhting works, except for the fact that my battery life is now terrible (about 2-1/2 hours on a full charge) and it is exactly the same whether I am in Stamina mode or Speed mode, even though I have very different power settings under each profile.

When I change the graphics mode, I do get the typical pop up warning screens and everything seems to work, I even get the warning that the CD/DVD drive has been turned off, but it does not change my battery life at all.

    Any ideas???

    Hi rpr13, welcome.
Have you tried building a power plan from scratch? Create one with lower screen brightness (than full) and click on advanced settings and tune all the options to low battery consumption settings.

Yep...doesn't seem to make any change in my estimated battery life. Very strange.
