Problems with VGN-FZ190

My system has been crashing to Blue Screen. I spent two and half hours on the phone with Microsoft Tech Support yesterday and we determined that it was a software application that was causing the problem; not a hardware issue. I recently installed the Hotfix for the Vaio Camera Capture Utility, and I was wondering if anyone has been experiencing the same issue after installation of Hotfix. Or if anyone has been having the same problem in general. I spoke with Microsoft b/c I installed a new hard drive and Vista Premium b/c I didn't want any of the crapware Sony puts on their computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!!!!

 

I needed that hotfix on the FZ19VN (Belgian model ... dunno if it's the same)

Hello I also am having issues with my vgn-fz190. The system would hard power off and then began blue screening. I have removed the sony partition and installed a clean version of vista and reinstalled windows. The problem started again. Now with multiple vista disks (ensuring I do not have a bad image), the vistal install crashes and reports memory errors at the windows memory diagnostic tool. The tool tells me that the system has a memory issue and to return to sony for service. I am now returning my system to sony for service. Anyone else having this issue? Wondering if this model has a memory defect? Has sony installed incorrect ram? Please feel free to contact myself if you also experience this!
