I've been trying to make copies of recovery dvds for my TZ180N (100gb hdd version) and I learned for a couple of threads here that one is able to do that via the Sony Recovery console. Does that mean pressing F10 during bootup an creating the discs from there? I did try the above method but there isn't any option to create the discs. Any advise pls? Many thanks!

Are you using XP or Vista? Do you have a "Vaio Recovery Centre" program on your computer?

The laptop comes with vista business and I wanna downgrade to xp. Before doing that though, I'm thinking of creating the recovery discs first.
Nope, there's no vaio recovery centre within windows. The only way I manage to access to the recovery part is by pressing F10 while booting up. Once launched, there are only options to recover the laptop to the original factory state. There's no option whatsoever for creating backup discs. :(

There is usually a recovery centre installed on vaio's  Use the start menu search function to search for "recovery" and see what comes up.

Sony has hidden the recovery console on their newer models . Their used to be a shortcut in the control panel or start menu but not anymore .

Click the blue questionmark icon marked windows help & support . Then click backup & recovery . Then scroll down to the very bottom of the window you will see Vaio Recovery Center > Then click launch vaio recovery center & you will then be presented with the options to either restore the pc or make recovery disks . Why they hid the recovery center in the windows help menu i have no idea .
