    Hi,
I purchased a Sony Vaio T190 last week - I am not much of a computer guy and was hoping someone could give me some tips on what to do next.

I am always frustrated with the tons of rubbish you get when buying a new laptop - AOL 90 days free trial, Norton this and that, the list goes on.

For once I would like to start my new computer relationship off with a 'clean' computer. Now I know I can just go and 'uninstall' certain programs but I wonder what the professional (you) does when he/ she just purchased a new computer.

I hear things like people re-installing windows? The guy who sold me the computer told me I need to get 2 empty dvd's - I figured to put unnecessary stuff on? What is the deal with all that Sony Vaio software on the machine - I dont figure I will ever use (manuals and stuff)?

What do you do and how do you it to make the system perform 100% right from the start? keep in mind this computer (only) has 32g of flash drive to begin with so all the more important...

    Anyone?

    Appreciate any response,
    regards
    Rob

Well Rob, you made a good choice coming to this forum, because you will find lots of inof here on what to do.

Best option: a clean install of Windows XP. Maximum performance, minimal use of harddrive space.

2nd Best option: Clean install of Vista. Less performance, and a lot gone of your harddrive.

3rd best option: Manually de installing as much as you can.

Wat would you like to do?
