Hi all, I just wanted to say thank you for providing what information you have in this forum so far. I've been reading as a guest for the past month or so as I tried to determine which laptop to buy, and finally settled on the refreshed line of the Vaio SR models. I purchased a CTO model with the intent to buy RAM for it on Newegg as it was much cheaper, but before I go ahead with the purchase I wanted to make sure there weren't any restrictions on what type of memory the laptop could use (other than the total amount, obviously). If anyone knows the answer to this, I would be very appreciative.

dont worry. all you have to do is buy the DDR2 SO-DIMMS with 800Mhz speed.

22$ at New Egg recently on a deal after MIR - 37-40$$ on any day.

So buy the laptop with the least amount of ram. Upgrade it outside.
