Hello
My DVD burner on my desktop die yesterday. I got it for 30 dollars (LG) and I want to get a new one. My LG is still under warranty but I am very lazy. I don't want to pack it and ship it, so annoying.
I saw this portable plextor and I am thinking of getting it. I was wondering is it possible to put it in my laptop? I know once I open my SZ I will lose my warranty so I might put in on my T150. Is it possible?

This looks like an external dvd burner. And why don't you wait for Blue-Ray drives?
-
Ya, is it possible to take the external drive apart and put it inside a laptop?

I think even if you were able to get it to physically fit inside the notebook the bezel still wouldn't sit flush with the side of your notebook and would therefore never close/open correctly. Unless you were able to get real creative and have the patience to try and remove the original bezel from the SZ and try to fit it to the front of the Plextor drive. Bottom line I frankly think it would probably be a heck of a lot more trouble than it was worth.

@Ch28Kid
it isn't possible: the DVD burner in your SZ is so called "Super Slim DVD Writer" (9.5 mm height), the Plextor is "Slim DVD Writer" (12.5mm height without case).

Ok, thank you.
