I bought vaio cs 24 last week. As I am new with this laptop I have some quires:

    1. Yesterday evening I kept a downloading in vaio and then I put the lid down and left my room. When I came back and held the lid up I saw the download was paused. I felt bad because that download was very urgent for me. I am thiking that due to some power consumption related setting it is going to some sleep stage when I put the lid down. So can anyone tell me how to solve the problem and where to change the timmings.

    2. The time shown in the right bottom is coming in 24hrs. format. How to change it to 12hrs format?

    Thanks in advance.

The easy solution for 1 is not to put the lid down.

Start > Settings > Control Panel > Power Settings

On the left, click "Change when the computer sleeps", and change "Put the computer to sleep" to Never. You can still let it turn off the LCD, but this will allow apps to continue to run.

You may also need to configure "Choose what closing the lid does" > "When I close the lid" to Do nothing. The LCD will still turn off when you close the lid, but Windows will no longer automatically go to sleep/hibernate.

To change time to 12-hour format, go to Start > Settings > Control Panel > Regional Settings, then Formats > Customize this format... > Time, and change any H to h, according to the notation key.
