    Question About Sony Recovery Partition

    Can I use the partition to install JUST Windows (and Microsoft Word, since it came with the computer)?

    Sony's phone support (or lack thereof) said it's entirely possible.

    Sony's online support had this to say:

    Model: VGN-CR190

    Has anyone here tried this? Does it work?

    they only way to find out for sure is to run the recovery and see if the software is reinstalled. Yes you can follow the instruction linked to do a clean install of vista using a retail copy.

    Any body know whether the new SZ models with the VISTA operating system would allow clean install from the recovery partition? Thanks.

    Will simply uninstalling the programs remove most/all traces of them from my hard drive?
