    Does Vaio FZ CTO 190 have a dedicated 256MB Ram on NVIDIA GeForce 8400GT or Shared?

    My FZ190 CTO has 256 mb (DDR3) dedicated ram on the 8400M GT. I believe it has up to a total of 1023 mb of shared memory (Sony website). However for my unit, under the nvidia control panel it says a total of 1535 mb (256 dedicated + 1279 shared).

    Ok so the total 256MB ram is not shared like H.P has but it is dedicated.

    Yes, it has 256MB of dedicated RAM. It is not shared from the main system memory.

    There is 256 dedicated AND additional shared memory for a total of 1024.

    Could it be because you have a total of 4 Gb RAM the sharing fraction is increased?
    My Nvidia panel says a total of 1023 mb and the shared system memory is 767 mb

    Yeah, it is because I just upgraded to 4gb. It use to say 1023mb when I had 2gb.
