This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved. For current discussions, many NBR forum users moved over to NotebookTalk.net after the shutdown.

    Can anyone answer some questions about the "Surf in seconds" function on the NW series VAIOs.

    I understand the WEB button launches a small BIOS based Linux OS (actually a version of Splashtop http://www.splashtop.com/).

    What I'm wondering is...

    Can you access the Windows partition from within Splashtop?

    If yes, does Splashtop require access to the Windows partition for any reason?

    If no, does Splashtop perhaps have its own small partition on the hard drive? Or perhaps it uses the recovery partition?
