    Hi
I was hoping if someone with an AR Series laptop can answer this.

Do all AR laptops come with 2 HDD Capability? I know some of them would only come with 1 HDD. But would there be space to add a 2nd HDD?
    What about RAID capability?

    Thanks

I don't think their is space for a second drive, you could possibly fit a larger drive and then partition into 2-3 or add a external hard drive as I have to give more capacity and also for back up purposes.

I have an AR and have added a second hard drive(see sig.).
*Most* AR's should give you the option as they are configurable as such(raid optional) on sony's website.

My laptop is a Vaio VGN-AR51SU and the hard drive details are below, i have no idea if this helps you at all. For what its worth and from what i have read on this site having 2 hard drives with RAID is not exactly an ideal situation.

    Hard Drive 2 X 250 GB - Serial ATA-150 - 4200 rpm

    Storage Controller Serial ATA

The hard drives are: 2 x FUJITSU MHX2250BT

    Its running Raid 0

    thanks all for the reply.

i dont care about the raid that much. however, i was hoping that i would eventually buy one cheap with only one HDD and then add a small but fast SSD as a system drive and then use the regular HDD as data drive.
