I purchased my Z on amazon. As I understand, I can purchase Sony's extended warranty either through sonystyle or a retailer. If I purchase the 3 year warranty, will the 3 years begin the day I purchased the notebook or the day I purchased the warranty?

This makes a difference because the notebook already comes with 1 year standard. If I add the 3 year warranty towards the end of year 1, I can actually get 4 years coverage?

No the 3 years is from the purchase of the computer - meaning, if you bought your computer today, 9/26/08, the extended warranty covers up to 9/26/2011
