    Hello,
I have had my txn-15p for a couple of years now, and it's starting to get old. I am looking at the TT series, but the problem is that they have switched the WAN to Verizon instead of sprint, while I am not contractually obligated to sprint, I still have fully unlimited data plan instead of the limited to 5gb that both sprint and verizon now use. My question is the WAN module in the TT series( specifically 190 custom order) soldered on the board or is it a mini-pci card that can be "easily" switched out with say the mini pci card from a u720 aircard. also has anyone disassembled a TT series.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    thanks

    Chris

Does that mean that it's the same with the US models? Sprint is just the software, and you can use it with Verizon, AT&T etc.?

    EDIT:

I just talked to them on Live Chat, and that guy said it's Sprint only. If I would like to use another providor I'd have to buy an external adapter for that providor.

The link in post #2 is for the TX series not the TT series.
The TXN is a US North American model and the EU/Asian models differ from the North American models when it comes to WWAN. The EU TT/Z models use a sim card and for sure have a mini pci express card. The North American TT models though i'm not 100% certain about that.

zimbros12 take a look at it, it looks like it for the old T1X series.
    http://home.comcast.net/~nw_systems/vgnT.pdf

A lot of the new guides have not been uploaded to that site yet.

To the OP you could make life easier for yourself and buy a TT with a Sprint card. There are probably some deals that you can pick up on this model now. T

It looks Sony use a base board that TT modules go into. The EVDO card can be bought separately.
    http://www.sparepartswarehouse.com/Sony,Vaio,VGN-TT198UB,Laptop,Parts.aspx

I think that this looks like the base board COMPL_IFX-517(EVDO) (S)

    Alternate Part Numbers:
    A-1599-659-A

If a TT owners in the US looks in their device manager they can see the manufacturer and what type of wwan card they are using.
