    Question about Windows 7 Voucher

    I filled out the information online a few weeks back about the windows 7 voucher and had a question about what I will actually receive. Is it a full install or upgrade only? I'd hope it to be a full install for if I ever need to fresh install windows 7 I wouldn't want to install vista first only to then upgrade.

    I got the voucher from Sony's website, I bought a FW465J/B and it showed it would include Windows 7 come October 23rd. I think it said it would include Home Premium but I'm not sure if it is the full version or the upgrade only.

    it is upgrade only. all the win 7 promotion is only for the upgrade version.

    however, you still have the option to do a fresh install if you have the upgrade disc...assuming that you already have an existing OS on your laptop. even if you do not, it should still probably prompt you to insert a previous windows full install disc during the win 7 installation.

    but i assume that your laptop should always have a version of windows installed at all times. it does not make sense to format your hard drive prior to installing win 7 because you can do that when installing win 7.
