I've forgotten my VGN-NW12Z AC Adapter in a place I can't reach until May 26th...
No way to have it back by mail or similar solutions...
    I own a VGN-FZ21S, too, with AC adapter VGP-AC 19V24 (19.5V-4.7A)
Reading the label under my NW I've seen that it needs 19.5 V (no data about Ampere... I've found around on the web that it should be 4.74- if anyone could give me details, it would be appreciated ).
The plug is exactly the same on two models, so I've tried to put the FZ's AC adapter on NW and... no problem! My NW is perfectly working.

There will be in your own opinion any long-term trouble by using the AC adapter in this way?

Shouldn't have any issues. The voltage matches, and as long as the adapter can support at least the same Amp as the other adapter, it will be ok. I think, the effect of lower Amp is that the battery doesn't get charged as fast.

I've only ever seen 16v and 19.5v on the Vaios. I have never had a problem using the 19.5V adapter on any of my 19.5 volt Vaios. (same with the 16V).
Currently I use the one from my 1998 Vaio z505 on my 2010 Z11.
Just because it is smaller and lighter. It supplies more than enough power.
