    Hello,

I don't tend to use wireless connections with any consistancy or for transferring large amounts of data. Since I got my SZ140, I'm trying to take change that for convenience. I've updated my linksys router to version 1.15. My sony wouldn't reliably connect using the internal wireless unit so I upgraded to the current software for the intelabg from Intel's web site and it connects every time!

My issue is when I try to transfer gigs of data from my PC to my laptop (via the laptop if it matters) I will often time out. It will say connection not available and it won't even let me browse the web unless I disable the connection to my router and enable it via the wireless neighborhood.

Is there a setting in my laptop or in my router you would recommend I check?

My security is set for WPA2 TKIP Group Key Renewal: 13600 if that makes any difference - changing the number didn't change anything.

It almost acts as if I try to transfer a certain amount - e.g. more than 1 GIG continuously it ****s out but if I transfer 4 gig in 200mb increments it works fine.

    Thanks

Yes - hardwired to the router no issue.

I have similar disconneting problem with wrt54GL running linksys 4.30.1 firmware. My setup is DSL>WRT54GL>wired desktop & wireless SZ150. From time to time the wireless connection drops although wired works perfect at the same time. I haven't notice any dependence on amount of transfered data and it seems to me more like completly random drop-outs.
Sometimes I don't notice any drop all-day-long, sometimes I lose WLAN connection five times in row within 15 minutes. The connection is ususally automatically renewed within a minute or two but sometimes in 15 minutes! I do monitor channels of other wifi users in our house, but none of them appears to be using the same channel I do (ch 1). My router disappears for a while from the list while I can still see neighbours, then after it re-appears my SZ attempts (unsuccesfully) to reconnect it. I cannot rule out a kind of wireless phone interference. But I am on a channel which should be less proned to that. So far I did not upgrade to 3rd party firmware since people having the same problem continue to have it also with other firmware.
Isn't it just a problem (intel pro wireless abg) with on board wifi chip in SZ? A signal is very likely not an issue in my case because it's all in the same room ...
