Hey everyone
Since the Hybrid HDD allows the HDD to spin down during low activity under the "Windows Hybrid Hard Disk Power Saving Mode" policy, I've been wondering, it is better to have the hybrid HDD spin down occasionally or is it better to have it constantly spinning like a normal HDD?
EDIT: Is it better for the HDD to spin down occasionally or is it better to have it constantly spinning? (i.e. which option will allow the HDD to have a longer life?)

The whole point of the SSD cache on the HDD is to allow it to spin down, using the cache instead and thus saving power and increasing performance on small caching operations. The firmware is intelligent to spin it up when needed.

Thanks for your reply, but I forgot to mention in the first post that I usually use the AC adapter to power my laptop, so saving power isn't my concern.
I guess my question is: is it better for the HDD to spin down occasionally or is it better to have it constantly spinning? (i.e. which option will allow the HDD to have a longer life?) -
anyone
?
