Im thinking about purchasing the z3, and I was wondering if you guys think its worth upgrading the i5-3210M>>>>)i7-3612QM and the ram from 4gb>>8gb? I do realise you need the 256 GB SATA for the 8gb upgrade, however they have a 50% discount for that upgrade atm.

I take it you're not in the US, where 8GB is standard. The two question you need to ask yourself are; 1) what will you use the computer for that might benefit from the stronger cpu? 2) what is the total cost of the upgrade, and does it square with your answere to 1)? There are two very confusing "trusisms" I hear all the time: as of now, very, very few people need more than 4GB RAM - except, say, people running multibple VMs - but I also hear that everyone should get 8GB on their new computer!

Actually, I think the upgrade to 256GB SSD is more universally essential. So I would look at it that way and let the 8GB come along for the ride.

Just bought mine at the spec. you mentioned. Saved £200 on the HDD upgrade offer. If you paying for a premium product get the best you can, keeping in mind that you can't upgrade this machine very easily, if at all, once you have it.
