I'm currently considering buying either an SZ or a Dell M1330. Whichever I end up with, I plan to get the LED screen. Which leads to the question, how fragile/flimsy/breakable is the LED screen? I an of course planning to take good care of my LT, but I will be doing some traveling, and want to make sure it will be safe when handling my laptop bag in the airplane, or when using it on the airplane, etc.

    Any comments?

    TIA

Mine feels a bit flimsy but it is a lot stronger then you think.
I have dropped my laptop twice now and no damage to screen, just a minor scratch on the corner of body. It doesn't matter if you choose SZ or Dell the Led screen is awesome, you will not regret it.

The LCD is pretty strong. I don't have a laptop bag so my laptop is always banging on heavy text books. So far my laptop LCD is still in pretty good shape.

Buy the accidental damage warranty from either company, and it doesn't matter.... That gave me comfort. Sure, it costs more this way--but i'd be panicked and anxious all the time otherwise.

I just dont know, but I feel that the LCD on my SZ is a lot more flimsy than the one I had on my TX. Perhaps is the way both LCD were built (SZ having a camera and TX not), but definitively, the TX LCD feels a lot more sturdy than the one on my SZ. Even when typing fast I can see the screen wobbling a lot. Either way, I won't put it on a test like letting it fall or something.

OK, wait a minute...you are "surprised" that an LED screen encased in a plastic/carbon frame that is about 9"x6" [the TX] has less flex than an LED screen encased in the same plastic/carbon frame but is 12"x9" [the SZ]?

Are you equally surprised that a sheet of tin that measures 2'x3' is more flexible than is a U.S. .05 nickel made from tin of the same thickness?
