I was looking at a Z model this last week at Fry's and noticed that the keyboard deck - specifically towards the top end of the deck (in the middle) had quite a bit of keyboard flex.
Now this was a Z2. AND - I suspect the machine had been "loved" by lots of people. So it might not be a good sample to measure the machine by.
Still - I would like to know from current Z2 or Z3 owners: Does your Z have any flex in the keyboard.
How I tested:
1. Open machine.
2. Press down gently on the middle function keys at the top of the keyboard.
Is there any flex when you press down in the middle (like the keyboard is bowing down).
Thanks!

It flexes because it is lifted up by the little foots on the silver frame!
The same on the T series. -
I agree. There is definitely flex in my Z2 if you start pushing down in various parts of the case. During normal use I've not found any reason to do that however.

There is tiny flex between the Y,H, and U keys on my Z2, but that is due to me pushing on it quite hard. This Z2 is 5 days old, which would explain the lack of flex. Now I'm sure if the computer has been used for a while there would be some flex due to things just naturally wearing out with usage. Its quite solid, don't worry about the Z2/Z3.

Yes they can flex a bit if you press strong enough (several kg per finger) in the center of the laptop, it's a high end machine that is designed to be thinnest & lightest as possible with a full voltage CPU, it needs to be taken care of, and thus you should not apply such pressure...

^ yep, this thing is a beauty, take care of it, and it will do the same for you
Question for Z3 owners: Does the Z's body flex?
