I bought the notebook 2 weeks ago and I like its screen very much. However, I believe the brightness of the default color setting is a bit too high so I use ATI catalyst control center to make the adjustment. But whenever the computer reboots or recovers from sleep mode, windows color changes to the default setting. The only way to get my desired color is to launch ATI CCC and click "Reactivate ATI color controls". Is there anyway to make the ATI color setting default windows color setting?

    Thx in advance
    Dave

I changed my color settings in the ATI CCC thing, and it stayed at that color since then..

But I use a newer modded ATI driver... so I guess that makes a difference..

Could you please provide me the link to download the new drive for the ATI card? FYI, I remember I disabled and removed ATI CCC from the startup program using windows defender. Maybe this caused the problem? I don't know how to add it back though :(

    Thx

this web site Mobility Modder explains how to install the latest driver for you ati card

and yeah the ccc has to start with windows to enable its settings... but i don't know how to add it back either since i don't use windows defender (useless), but yeah maybe the new driver can fix it

    good luck

Thanks Tony. One more question: Did you do a clean installation? If you didn't, do you know how to get rid of 'Adobe Gamma'?

You're welcome! don't be too shy on the REP button :p

Adoba Gamma?? My computer didnt come with that... But i guess you can go to Control Panel -> Uninstall a Program
and then see if that program is on the list
you can also try this program CCleaner, it's an awesome free system optimization, privacy and cleaning tool

And yes, I did do a clean install, I put vista ultimate on my SR, and after i did the clean install, i just popped in the recovery discs, and installed all the drivers and programs that i need, it was easy. and now my computer starts with only 55 processes!!
