i can get a very good deal on a FW with a 128gb SSD.
but i want to know know much space il be left with after vista and the recovery partition take up some space.
would it be more or less then 100gb?
also is the "128 GB Ultra ATA Flash SSD" sony give any good?
-
around 85gb
-
Burn your DVD recovery sothat you can delete the recovery partition
-
the 320gb 5400RPM HDD is £95 less, is it worth paying the extra £95 for only like 85gb overall.
-
i do download quite a lot, and i have a feeling i will fill 128gb very, very quickly as i filled 150gb in 1 month with my acer with movies

I just installed the 256GB GSkill Titan SSD in my Vaio Z series (Price from the egg is $549). If you can afford the bit heavy price tag, its a good deal and (at least for me enough storage, 128GB would be too small for me).
But overall (working 1 day now with the device) a real pleasure .. no stuttering or stalls (as reported by others)..... especially with max/min windows (like winDVD or Mediacenter) is almost instantly, same with office startup (click on Excel one second have it open the next one).....
I would already hate to have to go back to a HD now
Lets see what time brings ... reminds me my signature needs to be updated -
how much space does the recoverypartition and vista take up?
like 40+ gb?
as boypogi said id only be left with 85gb.
i know the SSD is a LOT faster then the 5400rpm 320gb HDD but i do like lots of space.
eg:
atm i got a 160gb HDD pc, iv got 20gb left only, after i deleted most things a month or 2 ago. -
What brand is the SSD in the Sony Z? Does anyone know? I ordered one but I want to make sure it's a high-quality SSD...
