This static read-only archive was pulled by NBR forum users between January 20 and January 31, 2022, in an effort to make sure that the valuable technical information that had been posted on the forums is preserved.     Question regarding Blu-Ray Drives on new Vaio FW

    Hi all,

    On the Sony website for the new FW, there are three drive options. I am not familiar with the Blu-Ray drives. The middle option in Blu-Ray read only. I'm assuming this drive cannot write regular DVDs and CDs?? Also, the higher option that writes to Blu-Ray....I'm assumming this WILL also write normal DVDs and CDs. Any clarification would be appreciated.

    Every option can read and write regular CDs and DVDs even the readable blu-ray drive.
