Hi: I plan on buying a Vaio Z690 but have a few questions. First of all, in your opinion which is better, premium carbon fiber, or carbon fiber, i can't decide which one to choose, as I don't know which one will look nicer/ (odds pointing towards premium) Secondly, since I want a 32bit OS thus getting Vista Business, should i select the "fresh start options" which removes Sony's bloatware, the reason I am asking is because is there any Sony bloatware which is actually helpful or is it worth to keep? Lastly, the Vaio Z590 had a P9500(2.53ghz) vs the Z690 with P8700(2.53ghz) how big a difference would I see in photoshop, load times, etc. Would it be worth getting a 590 as opposed to a 690 because the Z590 processor is P9500 and not 8700? Thanks for all your help guys! Also, for the premium carbon fibre, is it only the lid which is different or are there other parts of the laptop which are different, thanks.

Are you talking about the lid? I think the only options are black and premium carbon fiber, not carbon fiber and premium carbon fiber. As for which one would look nicer vs benefit, I'd like to know that too.

Yes you should select the fresh start option. Only the essential programs come with the fresh start, and maybe some bloatware.

All Sony Zs come with a carbon fiber chasis as far as i know, the only difference is in the lid.

I don't know about the processor, I'd like to hear the answer to that myself. Though, I would think that load times has to do with HDD RPM and not CPU. CPU would be useful in games and video encoding speed etc.

The Z series lids are the same choice as the SZ I have. Get the premium carbon fibre (the one with the weave running across the lid).

When the SZ first came out I bought the US preimum carbon version. Upon receipt I returned it because of the lid & bought an SZ90 from Dynamism.Com because of the carbon fibre weave in the lid (Premium Carbon Fibre).

    This is my tuppence worth.z
