Hello ,
I have been looking for a slim and light laptop for its portability+power, two of which I narrowed down to are the VPCSB18GG ( VPCSB18GG : S Series : VAIO Laptop & Computer : Sony India ) and the Apple macbook pro 13".
Though I am leaning more towards the Vaio , because they are almost same in weight/portability and the Vaio also has a GPU.
This is the config. I'm getting in my country :-
Intel® Core i7-2620M
13.3 (33.8cm) wide (WXGA: 1366x768) TFT colour display (VAIO Display Plus)
Hard Disk Drive 500 GB*4 (Serial ATA, 7200 rpm)
RAM 4 GB (4 GB x 1) DDR3 SDRAM*2 (upgradeable up to 8 GB*3)
AMD Radeon HD 6470M (512 MB)
This config will come for around US$ 1600 in my country (India)
I am not going to heavy game on the laptop, only play Warcraft 3/DoTA/ and Maplestory , maybe some WoW later on, that's why I wanna opt for a laptop which is rather thin and sleek rather than 5+LBS laptops which pack more graphic power.
Now my question is ,
1)Should I go for this , or the Apple MBP 13" with i7 and no GPU , which will cost about 1900$US. Also which has a better build quality?
2)I have heard ALOT of complaints about the SB series having a not-good screen, I did try it out in the Sony store and I must say it is actually not that impressive compared to Sony's CB17's full HD screen , or even the Apple MBP's screen.
3)Are there any other laptops with the similar form factor(light and thin) coming out soon?(from Sony) Because if there is going to be something which is going to release in preferably June-July period , I think I can wait till then !
PS: My primary use is going to be Surfing the web, DL'ing and watching Movies, Messenger, and a little bit of light gaming (Warcraft 3 / DoTA / Maplestory and maybe WoW later on)
Thank you![]()

The Vaio SA is expected to be released in June sometime. It is rumored to have a 1600x900 screen.

So I shouldn't go for these?

Most users on this forum don't seem to be satisfied with the Vaio SB. If you are in a rush to purchase a laptop, I'd probably just go with the Macbook Pro. However, if you are patient and can wait til June, see how the Vaio SA is when it comes out.
