    Hi Everyone :)

I'm new to this board but I had some questions...

Does anyone have a Sony VGN-FE890?

I just purchased one recently and although I was sent the wrong color (I had ordered the white but was sent the dark grey/black color) I decided to play around with it a little bit until I received the RMA to return for the white color.

How long is the battery life? Ive noticed most people consistently say around 2 hours but then I read some user reviews under "notebook reviews" and they mentioned 4 and 5-6 hours...is this only with a larger capacity battery? Is it possible to even get 4 hours on this laptop? I dont mind turning down the screen settings (as long as I can see properly) and all as long as I can still surf the web or watch DVDs...4 hours would be awesome compared to the 2 hours.

Is there a way to read the battery time meter? My previous laptops were all on Windows XP and I dont know if this is a Windows Vista or a Sony thing, but my battery icon only shows percentage of battery left...how can I view how much TIME is left on my battery?

Overall...I like my laptop so far but as I mentioned, havent done too too much since I'm waiting for the white replacement.

For those of you who DO have it---does it scratch easily? How do the keys feel over time? Is the touchpad pretty sturdy...I liked the new HPs with the smooth touchpad...this one is a bit grainy feeling...

Also--is there a way to get the desktop icons to look smaller? I already have them in the "classic" size...my old notebook was a Toshiba Satellite 5125-S501 and the max resolution on that was 1400 so my desktop icons could look much smaller (I prefer that) but this one is only 1280 max resolution...but still is there a way to get the desktop icons to be smaller?

Finally--there is basically no bass on the sound system...I guess I've been comparing it a lot to my Toshiba Satellite and the sound on that machine by far sounds much better...is there anyway to upgrade the way this Sony plays music or videos? Like a better soundcard or can you change the speakers or add more bass to it?

    Thanks so much!!!!
