Hi all. I am a new owner of a Sony Vaio SA3 laptop. I had two questions for you guys who might also own one:

    1) Is there any way to turn off (or adjust) the keyboard backlight brightness?

    2) What kind of battery life are you guys getting? Windows says I'm expected to get around 4:00 hours on 1 battery, and 7:30 hours on battery + slice. Does that sound about right, or do I need to re-calibrate the battery life sensor with a full deep dis/charge?

Sensor is quite accurate. And remember - NEVER discharge battery to almost 0% (if you mean this value by writing "deep discharge"), because it will ruin your battery - especially Li-Poly.

Someone's made research about battery life and specific elements power consumption. Keyboard's backlight using around... around 0,7W? Something like that. So when it's still turn on it will decrease your battery life for circa 20-25 min, while light using notebook (lower screen backlight level, STAMINA mode on, power saving plan).

Unfortunately, all SA/SB/SC/SE series don't allow to change keyboard backlight brightness.

There is one benefit, however.... while in battery, my backlight it set to not come on unit I use it, and only for 10seconds, and additionally, will only activate when it's dark.
