I just bought a new Sony Vaio SB to replace my old FZ (which was broken in numerous ways but still working).
I have a few questions:
Should I turn battery care on, limiting the battery in affect to 80% battery? I suppose what I am really asking is whether it actually helps?
On graphics drivers. How to the graphics drivers work? Can I download the latest ones from the ATI website or will that mean I loose access to the integrated chip to save battery life?
What of the bloatware do you recommend I get rid of? I have already removed the McAfee anti-virus, Norton Back up and the links to downloads of Skype and Media Go. I have installed Microsoft Security Essnentials in McAfee's place. I am curious to know why did Sony pre-installed Oracle Java?
Noted my SB is a SB25FG with 4GB of ram (it only came with 2GB for some reason).

1. For the battery, most suggested that you turned on the battery care. If you have to leave somewhere, turn it off and charge it to 100%.
2. Well, I'm not sure about that. I use the Sony's driver.
3. I actually reformat my SA when it arrived, since I don't really use all the Adobe stuffs. For me uninstalling the bloatware is not enough, because the files might still be there. You can actually download Windows 7 for free from MS Digital River (but you still need the serial - please take note the serial key from your computer properties). -
Only 2GB? Are you sure? Supposed to have 4 soldered to the mobo. And I unistalled mcafee, norton, and thats about it. I use adobe and skype so....

I Hate those ATI drivers as well, but I think you better keep Sony's ATI drivers, because they are probably a bit modified for Vaio SB needs.
