    First off I'm in Canada.

I have been considering a TZ as a second laptop. Have a lot of concerns about the hard drive sizes/speed. Seems the Japanese configs (160gb 5400RPM) is the right choice but not generally available in N. America except through Dynamism etc.

Now I'm thinking if I can't really get a TZ that is affordable, supportable and decent speed, maybe I should go for an SZ6 as a compromise and sell my Dell Latitude d820...using the SZ6 as my everyday PC and road warrior. It won't be as small/light as the TZ, but much better than the Lattitude.

    My concerns are:
    (1) How can I get an onsite warranty for the SZ in Canada?? Sonystyle Canada seems to offer an extended warranty but I'm guessing that's return to depot. Too scary if it's my only PC. I guess I was a little less concerned if I take a risk on the TZ with basically no onsite if it's my road notebook only.

    (2) My Latitude is 1600x1050 on the internal LCD. I like the high-res for the real estate (spreadsheets) and lots of open windows, but willing to compromise for the weight. I spend 80% of my time in front of my Dell 24" LCD. But what about movies? I usually watch a movie or two on long flights...will there be much difference? I occassionally have HDTV content downloaded from the net.

I've done some searching but not much related to Canadian warranty issues...
