Can either the Sony TT or TZ be upgraded to 'regular' laptop drives? Would like 500 GB capacities.

    Thanks,

Off the top of my head I think its 1,8" drives...

The TT possibly could use a 2,5" drive in the CD/DVD drive using a caddy...

But don't quote me on that.

It has already been said what type of drives these laptops take.
In the case of the TT you can opt for a RAID setup which will give you more storage space and speed but this carries quite a heavy price tag.

Conics sell the TT without a built in drive and what looks like to be standard 2.5 drive in the optical bay. As far as i am aware the highest capacity 1.8 microsata drive that Toshiba sell is a 320GB HD.

I also know that the TZ allowed for this.

Getting hold of the Sony cables (unless you want to go a little more unsightly route) though is the main thing.
