Two quick questions. I've done a complete search on this site, read through the whole giant Sony Z case thread, and searched the web.
1. What's the suggested retail of the CZK1?
2. Does this protect the notebook when dropped on the EDGE? Most notebook sleeves have soft corners (i.e., neoprene etc) so they give when dropped on a corner. This doesn't really protect the corners from dropped impact. To protect in these case, the case has to have some rigidity on the corners.
Does the CZK1 have more rigid corners?
3. Does it fit the Z with the extended battery which protudes considerably?
Thanks,
UL

Ive got one of these, though cant remember what I paid for it - easily googled.
The case takes both size batteries no problems, there are 2 adjustments for the fastner to close. The base of the case is reinforced and the leather folds over at the top to protect it - so yes id say it would protect the corners....no that id want to drop it at all! Sony have built the case to protect as well as cover - its a nice case and doesnt really look like its got a pc inside it....so feels safer to carry round too
Hope that helps -
is this case still available for sale? seems discontinued everywhere...

1. MSRP was $70, but it's discontinued so that really doesn't mean a whole lot now.
2. I think you can drop it anyway. The side and the corner are semi-rigid. The fit is also tight on the top and bottom so they really clamp down on the laptop so the laptop doesn't actually shift inside the case.
3. I think Virtua may have confused CKZ1 with CKZ2, or maybe he is putting a VPC-Z in a CKZ1. There is no way you can fit a VGN-Z with extended battery in CKZ1 and still be able to close the lid.
