I have sifted through the numerous threads about this but I could not find a step by step guide as to how to create the proper recovery/ win7 disc to do a clean install.

I just bought a Z with win 7 64 already installed and just want to reinstall win 7 and choose the software that I want to load. I created recovery discs but they did not give me the option to do a custom install . I am not sure what sort of disc I am supposed to create and how to get the option to do a custom install like the guides are saying.

i just got the z series as well. basically, i reinstalled windows 7 32 bit edition cd that i got separately and reinstalled all 32 bit drivers. it was brutal looking all over the place and reading threads. but the drivers are in some threads.

my pc skills are not up to par any more since i primarily been using my MacPro.

there is an easier way which is to purchase P1 optimized recovery CD from portable 1. i ended doing this to save time, the next time i had to reformat my harddrive.
