    Hi,
    Quick question - I bought an SZ-480 w/ 1gb of DDR2-533 RAM.

I want to upgrade to 2gb (must run video games a tad bit smoother).

Can i get ANY type of DDR2-533? I'm not quite sure about the "speed" (e.g. 4200..etc). I'm not even sure what type is in my laptop!

    Thanks!

I purchased a 2GB DDR2-SDRAM PC2-5300 running at 667MHz despite the motherboard only supporting up to 533MHz ... so either way you're safe getting a PC2-4300 or a PC2-5300 stick - but I was thinking more to when I sell the laptop or RAM later on.

To find out what type you've got pre-installed download a program called PCWizard and/or CPU-Z. PC Wizard can be found at http://www.cpuid.com/pcwizard.php and CPU-Z at http://www.cpuid.com/cpuz.php (note: download links are to your top left hand corner of the pages). It takes a bit of getting used to how the programs set out the info. but once you know where to look ... it's petty neat!

    hope this helps!
