Hi guys, just wondering if it's possible to go over the 4GB capacity?

Has anyone done it? Would you recommend? Is it a simple BIOS flash before/after installing the RAM chips,

    Cheers,

Hey stokes, you can simply upgrade to max 8GB of ram with 2x4GB modules. (Don't know what module(s) you have already installed. 1066MHz DDR3 RAM modules work). Note that you need to install a 64bit operating system in order to use the entire memory (I think the VGN's have been shipped with 32bit systems). A BIOS upgrade or other changes than plugging in the modules are not necessary.

I have a VGN-Z11 and have just installed this 8GB kit
    OCZ Technology DDR3
It does come with 2x4GB modules, the description on website is wrong.
I am running latest BIOS from Sony UK, and W7 64 bit.

    W7 reports 8G :)

Thanks guys for the responses, wasn't sure if it would support over 4GB but thanks for clarifying!
