So I've got a Vista Home Premium install running quite well on my SZ330PB. Everything is working great and I've recently started using a 1GB MS pro Duo in the built in (Texas Instruments) reader for ReadyBoost.

I've discovered a rather critical problem. It seems that this will work perfectly during normal use and even coming in/out of Standy (Sleep).

However, when coming out of Hibernate, it looks like the built-in card reader gets hosed and it brings down the entire OS!! I've tried using the XP driver (2.0.11) and the Vista driver (2.0.15) and so far seems to be the same for both.

Can someone else test this for me?

    1. Stick a MS Pro Duo in the built-in slot
    2. Enable ReadyBoost
    3. Let it do it's thing for a few mins
    4. Go into hibernate
    5. Wait a few seconds after computer has turned off
    6. Turn it back on
    7. After it's resumed and you're back into Vista, go into Computer and try opening the Memory Stick drive to see the contents
    8. At this point Windows Explorer crashes and basically crashes the OS. Only way to get out is to hold down the power button.

Holding the power button this morning for this reason lead to corrupt data on the HD which needed to be fixed, luckily wasn't an important system file.

Alternatively, another safer way to test is after you come out of hibernate, look at the built-in card reader's activity light (right next to slot) and watch it as you open stuff on the SZ. If the drive works there'll be some (even if it's a little) activity on it.

I have no clue how to fix this apart from either never hibernating or never using readyboost.

I am able to go into and out of Hibernate on my SZ460 running preinstalled Vista Business with a 2GB Pro Duo memorystick.

I was able to work around it by popping it out and in after coming out of Hibernate...I lose my ReadyBoost cache though.

Not sure if it's the drivers or what but it's not working for me.
