Ok, after 2 weeks with my new FE, I have to say I still like it...maybe more than when it arrived.

First of all it looks great. In the past, I just left my notebook open with stuff scattered all around and on it. Now I close it whenever I leave my desk for more than 5 minutes so that I can enjoy looking at the lid and open it when I come back :p

Second, I really like typing on it. The keyboard has great response imo and I like the sound it makes while typing (compared to my old Sony GR, a external microsoft keyboard on my desktop, and my wifes fujitsu S7020).

I guess I also got more used to the plastic/warm palmrest and it doesn't bother me that much anymore. Still a big negative point, but not a deal breaker for me.

I was a little disappointed that the 3D Marm score is so low, even with 2GB of 667 RAM as I expected it to be around 2000 or so. I played some F.E.A.R. recently with the settings it automatically adjusts and haven't had any problems whatsoever. Everything is smoth even with shadows turned on.

Even when the fan comes on (very rarely), it's pretty silent, so I am very happy in that department.

I would do a full review, but I am extreemly pressed for time atm. If no one did one after 3 weeks, I will do it (if they let me).

OK, so I custom ordered mine and got it super fast. I like it. But I think i'm having some problems with the wireless. I can't really get a consistent connection to my access point even tho it's in the same room. When it DOES connect, it's got an 'excellent' signal. And i got the Microsoft "Optical Desktop Elite for Bluetooth" keyboard and mouse set. The mouse sometimes will start farting and get real sluggish/jerkey. Yeah, I know about microwaves and cordless phones, but I wonder if ANYONE else is having problems. I've called sony on this, and they don't know anything. This here laptop is bleeding-cutting edge, so I don't know if there might be a problem with the a/b/g/BT integrated card. n e one?

I'm sure its been asked here before, but going to go out on a limb and ask again.

Is it possible for you to take some pics of the laptop? I really can not find any decent pics other than the ones you see on sony of this laptop. None of my local stores carry and sony laptops so I can't even try one out.

Also if you were to recommend this laptop to someone, what would you say do differently when you ordered this laptop?

I don't have bluetooth, so maybe it's a problem b/c of that? My wireless works flawless. it takes about 5 seconds to get the conection and I rarely have any disconnects (I think maybe around once a week or so).

I submitted a review with pictures, so that should be up soon. I am no photographer, so don't be surprised.

I don't have any regrets about my config. Seriously! Maybe get the 120GB HD now that it comes with 5 movies? If you are a total speed whore and don't mind the stiff price you could get the 2.16 Duo...but the price increase was a bit too crazy for me.

Is it one of those really loud and dry farts or more of a juicy, hot fart?

It's a test of raw arithmetic calculation power of the processor. There are other tests as well. In this specific one, your computer calculates th number Pi to 2 million digits after the .

    3.14159.........

hardware and bios setup probably also have some effect, but only very little. The Acer 8204 got 1m15s in the review, so mine calculates Pi 2 seconds faster to 2 million digits....HAR HAR HAR

    DaCheese...

Thats a very nice time... Iam too lazy to look for them if you posted... What were the specs on your FE? And have you run 3dmark05? Anyone know if there are any better drivers for the nVidia 7400 available?

Fantastic review, definitely buying one this evening, one question though... How hard was it to install memory? I've never installed any component in a laptop before so no idea how that works.

Also what battery did you order with the laptop? Is it worth the extra 100$ for the "Large Capacity Battery (BPL2C)" one?

Installing memory should be fairly easy on any notebook.

If you look at the picture of the open notebook in my main review ( http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=43807) you can see the memory on then bottom of the screen (one of the sticks says "Value Select"). You don't have to take off the whole backcover to change it, just unscrew two small screws and lift up a small metal sheet under which you will see the RAM sticks. Tilt the metal hinges on the side of the sticks a little and the RAM sort pops out. Then you just take it out and stick in the new stick(s).
