Can you install Sony Recovery DVD in a Sony Notebook other than the one it originally came from, as long as the model number is similar? For example, if someone has a Recovery DVD for FW135, can it be installed in FW190? They are in the same series (FW100 series), so it should work, right?

It depends on the hardware inside the system. If both the systems have got same hardwre or atleast similar then the DVD should work.
