    I've tried DVD-R, DVD-RWs (Memorex), DVD-R (Sony).

It reads material on dVD-Rs fine. It reads CDRW's fine. it plays DVDs.

it just will not burn the recovery DVDs or any DVD for that matter. It'll continually say "Insert a blank disc" so I do, then it'll make a couple goofy noises from the drive, and spit it back out asking it again.

I don't understand what I'm doing wrong. I backed up everything already. I used the f10 recovery, where you restore all the factory settings on the c drive. it still does not work.

I've downloaded the share library ordeal to make sure the recovery wasnt corrupted, no dice.

i've reset bios and used the default settings. nothing.

    any ideas? at all?

I have the same issue... not sure how to fix... I feel as though the Burner we have is not a DVD Burner... This is the one I have...
