    hello; i have a sony laptop vgn-c290 and i need the recovery dvds, sony sell them for about $40.00 i allready check with them, maybe somebody knows a place where to buy them for cheaper price. thanks a lot

    Because that is OEM software, you will need to purchase them from Sony. That is the only legal option.

    If you have the C:\I386 folder on your notebook, you are more than welcome to ask about using nLite to create your own recovery DVDs and a fresh Vista/XP disc. Additionally, all laptop shave the option to burn their own recovery discs and you should ask about that.
