I was just wondering if anybody has heard about possible refinements in the FS series similar to the refinements in the S380 series. They feature a faster hard drives, DDR2 chips and integrated Bluetooth?

I read somewhere a report that the Japanese site no longer had the K series and had a new E series. I know Japan gets all the latest innovations before Sony USA did and I wondered if it might be released in the near future

Well, the Sony rep I talked to said that they wouldn't be releasing any updates for the FS for a long time since it just came out.

However, if you go to Sony's support web site, they have models listed for the FS series that are in the 600s, with no specifications or support information for those models. Perhaps something new is coming out?

Cross, that's very interesting. I went to Sony's support site and they do indeed show a FS-615F, FS-630F, FS-650F and a FS-670FG. Does anybody have a clue what the F might stand for?? Sony lists a FS-550F, but I can't seem to find it.

The reason I got curious in the first place is because of the sale on hard drives that seem to be in 4200rpm range. Maybe I'm just wishing for a few things on the S that I would like to see on the FS

They're probably models marketed in other countries or maybe they're planning on bringing out the WSXGA+ screen here in the U.S.

But with six pre-configured models available on Sony Style, I doubt they would be adding more.

Or maybe it's a 17" inch screen model styled like the FS
