I'm about to purchase a Vaio FZ21M and had a reformat question. I want to get rid of bloatware by doing a clean install:

    1) If I make recovery discs will it put on a clean version of Vista or a bloated one?

    If yes..

    2) Can I get any OEM disc of Vista Home premium put it in the laptop and use the valid cdkey printed on the underneath of the laptop?

I think that making a recovery disc WILL put the bloat back. Do the FZ laptops have a recovery partition? If so then there are instructions to re-install the OS with no bloat by running the VAIO recovery utility -> let it run until it reboots into Vista and says installing custom software, at which point, press CTRL+ALT+DEL and end the process (please have a look through the forums for exact program ,only 2 running.) Ending the process will stop bloat installation (but it will still be there on the recovery partition). I just did this with a TZ180N and everything works, no bloat! as for getting an OEM disc and installing with your key, yes it should work fine. Good luck.
