    If i reformat the sony vaio fw with an actual vista disk do i need to be worried about losing any type of function? bios, etc.

    you will need to reinstall drivers for the laptop to function properly

    won't effect the BIOS but recommend getting all the latest drivers from Sony after you complete the Vista install...
