I just reformatted the hard drive on my s360 and installed a different OS than what was shipped with it (XP Home to XP Prof). Now, when I boot up, I am presented with two OS choices, Home or Prof. Does anyone know why this is happening? I reformatted the entire drive reclaiming the partition Sony sets aside for the recovery disks.

Also, there is a document on Sony's support site that details how to install the Windows XP operating system and VAIO apps. There is a statement in there that says, "If a Windows XP Service Pack is installed as part of your computer's current operating system configuration, the new operating system you are installing must contain at least the same or a higher version of Windows XP Service Pack." Do you think this is part of my problem? I went from XP Home w/SP2 to XP Prof (have SP2 on separate CD).

FYI, the XP Home choice does not work if selected.

    Thanks

Figured this one out. Just edited my boot.ini file to remove the XP Home option. Out of sight, out of mind. [8D]
