    Hi all,

A friend of mine is bringing round his laptop (VGN-FS415B) as I said I'd have a look at it as it's not responding much. I've decided to do a fresh install but am not sure what the best route is.

    Should I

    a) do a vanilla XP install like I would do on any laptop then just install the drivers.

    b) try and use the Vaio Recovery Centre and burn the recovery discs. This to me is not the option I would normally take, as it would put the bloatware back onto the system, no?

So is there anything I should know about these laptops, and is it a bad idea to remove the recovery partition?

    cheers,

    b
