When I bought my Vaio back in January, I purchased 4GB RAM along with it. However, because the OS was 32bit Vista, I can only use 3GB of the RAM. Now basically I'm wondering, are there any restrictions on reinstalling an OS on a Vaio laptop. I thought it might have something to do with the OEM preset jazz, however on the other hand I might not be making any sense whatsoever...
I did try and sort this out on the Vaio support website, but that site is a bloody labyrinth :p

    Thanks.

First off, the recovery discs are only 32bit. Secondly, OEM licenses are either 32bit or 64bit...not both. So you'd probably have to buy a 64bit license.

The serial works for both x86 and x64 discs.
