I just got my Z2 yesterday and cant stop thinking what I can do to it to make it more suitable for me.

then this hits me, ppl replace the dvd-rom with HDD on other Laptops all the time, since this laptop has the dvd-rom which is inside the PMD, does anyone ever try to open PMD up and replace DVD with a HDD?

then you would have an extenal HDD PMD. that fits more of my need than a DVD-RW PMD since the Z2 I got only has 128GB SSD.

I am not sure if anyone here has discussed this already somewhere.
if yes, please reply with a link to it :D so I dont have to waste anyone's time.

Huh? Given that you could connect an external hard drive to the Z2 via USB3, why gut the PMD? If you don't want it, sell it to pay for the external drive.

...the PMD also provide GPU power, so cant just replace it with an extenal HDD.
and its the least I want to see two 'bricks' on my desk with two power adapter...

You want to go through all that for something that can be done way easier? Go for it.
