Hi, I never replaced a notebook display so probably my question is a little "stupid" but I was wondering if it's possible to replace vaio sa or sb display with the one used in another 13.3" of a different brand. I read that the Samsung 900x3, for example, has a very good display (even if it's only 1366x768) and it's 13.3" 16:9 exactly like vaio sa/sb and it would be a wonderful upgrade for a vaio sb (even for an sa, except for the lower resolution)... Do you think it's possible?

    Try calibrating your SA first?

And do let us know if you find a panel that is compatible.

Actually I don't own an SA but i'm thinkin about buying one... a friend of mine has an SB and, out of curiosity I tried to use the SA calibration profile available in this forum but nothing changed (I tried the same profile with another monitor and I can clearly see the difference)...

As regards the panel, it would be wonderful to find a good 13.3" 1600x900 but it's nearly impossible :( it's much easier to find a 1366x768

You could try the swap with the LG IPS displays that are stated to debut with the LG P330, however its supposed to be 1366*768

although you have to be sure that the connector is the same, and that the bios support the swapp
