    Hi all,

    I have a Sony VGN-TX650p model with a 1.8" 60GB Toshiba HD (MK6006GAH)

    The drive is failing.

I would like replace the drive with a 1.8" 100GB Toshiba HD (MK1011GAH). This however has a ZIF interface. not sure if that matters at all, but I've never used ZIF.

I was wondering if you guys have come across any upgrades like this, or should I stick with the same 60GB Toshiba?

Thanks for your time and assistance!

**What's the best way to go about this in terms of saving the image from the old HD? I was thinking to image the existing dying drive with Acronis True Image and load those DVDs on start-up once the new drive is installed.

I think I am experiencing the same problem you are having... did you find a solution?

I am working on my CEO's laptop. It appears to be a first generation Sony VGN-TX650P with a LIF connector for the current Hard Drive.

I have a new Toshiba Hard Drive MK1011GAH 100GB, this new HD uses a ZIF connector. I am trying to locate an adapter. I have called SONY looking for modified cable. While they are looking I am told they will not have one...
