Now that the new Z is approaching and the old Z had been discontinued, is it still possible to order replacement parts and/or repair your laptop from Sony?

Will they still be available after the new iteration of the Z?

    Thanks!

yep as sony still needs to honor their 2-3 year extended warranties. However, near the end of 3 years, if you break something... they might replace it then with a new Z if they run outta parts :D or even just refund you your money, but not, the price will go up as their stock dwindles

I don't know where you live OP but getting hold of spare parts in the US is easy. It is a different matter though if you live in other countries and especially some countries in the EU. Sony will refuse to sell you internal parts directly.
The cost for out of warranty repair is also pretty high and some people just end out parting out their laptop instead of fixing it.

I contacted Sony recently in the UK to enquire about purchasing some parts for my TT. I was told they couldn't sell me the part and as the cost was pretty high i was informed by the adviser that i might try and see what i can do for an alternative first.

Now i will need to track parts down from the US because i don't want to buy secondhand parts on ebay. There is only one store in the US that will ship to the UK and the shipping and handling costs are not low.

Is this sony parts store now done for? I don't think it longer works. They only sell accessories like listed in a magazine?
