Ok, so i bought a working vaio p, but with a broken (cracked) panel.

I tried to search the forums and ther internet for information about replacing it, and with where to get a new screen from, as it is not the most common size or type.

So if someone have any information to share about where to get one, how to replace it etc would be ice to have it :)

I can reply to this one myself, if someone else finds it intresting.

Got answer from sparepartswarehouse.com today, and they sell the screen for $475 + $10 for UPS ground shipping.
I guess a bit expensive, then i probably buy a new updated vaio p for the double :S

$500 for the screen?! The cheapest one on Craigslist Seattle, WA is $400 for a used computer! I say, sell the one you just bought and buy a used one that works! It's probably easiest to do it that way and the least amount of hassle.

Or you can part also part out your computer. There seems to be a small following of this computer over on pocketables.com.

Rachel, how are you able to find out the part numbers for everything? There are a few pieces on the first gen P that I'd like to find the numbers for, do you have a disassembly manual?

Sorry i don't have a service manual for that model. I've got some for other models but not that. For that model i just searched on an original part number that a seller is selling on ebay.

You can also find part numbers on the sparepartswarehouse website or the Sonypartswebsite.
